ABOUT US
Promoting Wellness Through Healthy Foods and Human Connection Since 2013
Established in 2013, FEAST promotes community health through nutritious foods and human connection. Addressing diet-related diseases and social isolation, we offer 16-week wellness programs across various community settings in LA. These programs include food education, access to fresh whole foods, and peer support, impacting thousands in Southern California, New York City, and Lincoln, Nebraska. We continue to expand locally and nationally, empowering individuals to achieve full, healthy lives through nutrition education and community engagement.

OUR HISTORY
In 2013, Sam Polk and Dr. Kirsten Thompson started Groceryships (now known as FEAST) with the intention to address the health disparities affecting families throughout the U.S., largely stemming from a broken food system.
Understanding that a healthy life has three main ingredients: whole foods, whole people and whole communities, Founders, Sam and Kristen, Executive Director, Dana Rizer, and a team of advisors created a holistic program combining practical skills like nutrition education and healthy cooking with a support-group structure that builds deep bonds of friendship and social connection.
This integrative approach promotes wellness by harnessing the power of healthy foods and human connection. The program they developed has proven to be incredibly effective with powerful results.
In 2018, in an effort to better express the essence of its programs, which goes far beyond the distribution of "scholarships for groceries," Groceryships officially changed its name to FEAST. The organization has had an impact on thousands of individuals and families in the Los Angeles area and is continuing to expand its work to the national level by starting programs in New York in the fall of 2018.
